Before you jump to Curry and Honey Acorn Squash recipe, you may want to read this short interesting healthy tips about Tracking Your Food: The proper way to Do It.

When you decide to go on a diet one of the first things that you will learn is that it is important to record what you eat during the day. Tracking all of the food you consume may help you figure out which foods you will be eating as well as which foods you are not eating enough of. For example, after retaining a food journal for a few days, you might see that you are not consuming very many vegetables but that you are consuming lots of sugar and bad carbohydrates. Having it all written down can help you recognize the aspects of your diet that need to change as well as how much exercise you need to get to make sure that you burn enough calories to keep your waistline in check.

Record the time of morning you consume things. This can help you find out just what times of day you feel the most hungry, when you usually reach for snacks and then you can learn how to deal with those times. After a day or two you might notice that, though you eat lunch at the same time every day, you still feel hungry an hour or so later. You may also be able to identify when you are eating in order to have something to do. This is important because all those are moments that you can choose other things to fill your time with than food.

What kind of mood are you in when you eat? Write it down! This helps you to demonstrate whether or not you use food as a response to emotional issues. This may also show you whether or not you gravitate in the direction of specific foods based on your mood. Lots of us will reach intuitively for processed food when we feel upset or angry and we are more likely to choose healthy options when we feel happy or content. Not only will this allow you to notice when you reach for precise foods based on your mood, it will help you find ways to keep healthier (but similar) selections on hand for those same moods and help you figure out whether or not someone professional can help you deal with the issues that are sending you towards certain foods in the first place.
